The Role

As a Regional Fire Safety Lead, you’ll have a role that is out of the ordinary, you will provide support to the UK business in fire safety, prevention, protection, emergency response and assurance across the UK footprint. Driving demonstrable change in fire safety performance to raise the fire safety management standards.

 

Day-to-day Accountabilities:

  • Provide leadership, subject matter expertise and support in the development and implementation of robust, consistent fire management standards & arrangements, across the QinetiQ UK footprint
  • Provide competent and technical fire safety advice and guidance where required
  • Support delivery of FRA programme and engage with site representatives and Senior Fire Safety Lead
  • Support review of the UK Fire Safety Instruction, associated documents and guidance
  • Co-ordinate fire improvement programmes
  • Work with key stakeholders to enhance existing prevention and protection measures, fire safety management and assurance

 

This role is full-time, 37 hours per week based out of our Kyle of Lochalsh site.

 

Essential experience of the Regional Fire Safety Lead:

  • Ability to provide an effective, robust scrutiny of business activities in relation to fire safety
  • Strong experience as a Fire Safety Advisor
  • Strong experience in Fire Risk Assessment
  • Robust understanding & training / certification in DSEAR risk assessment, preferable
  • Thorough understanding of applicable legislation, regulatory / enforcement bodies & fire prevention / protection technical standards
     

Qualifications for the Regional Fire Safety Lead:

  • Professional qualifications in fire safety management essential, (ideally a level 4 Diploma qualification)
