About the team:

Our team based at the BUTEC Shore Support Base in Kyle of Lochalsh is responsible for supporting trials activities on the BUTEC range these involve support to the Royal Navy in carrying out a wide variety of tasks both at sea and ashore. 


The successful candidate will be part of the Operations Team helping to plan, schedule and manage the activities taking place on the range.  You will also be actively involved in the running of trials.


You will be responsible to the Operations Team Leader for the day to day tasks in the Ops room which include but are not limited to managing Helicopter Operations, Fleet Management, Schedule and ComCen Management.


Specific Responsibilities:

  • Helicopter Operations Fleet Management
  • Schedule Management
  • ComCen Management
  • Driving duties (willing to be trained if not already qualified)
  • Sea riding duties on surface and sub-surface vessels
  • Conduct of trials activities
  • You will undetake a SCQF Level 6  Business Administration Modern Apprenticeship alongside your on the job learning


Knowledge, Skills and Personal Qualities Required:

  • Well organised, able to work individually or as a team player with excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  •  Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work at sea and in confined spaces
  • Willing to fly via helicopter multiple times per month

Academic requirements:

  • You will need to have attained or be predicted National 5 at A - C grade in English Language, Maths, IT  and two other subjects
