The role

As a Crypto Security Specialist, you’ll have a role that is out of the ordinary, You will use your experience to apply High Grade cryptography and key management expertise to customer mission challenges through research, advice, consultancy or engineering and working with colleagues from different professional disciplines and organisations.

 

Day-to-day, you will:

  1. Lead technical work to identify and derive security requirements, develop/analyse innovative solutions, and understand/shape both the “big picture” and technical details in crypto security domain
  2. Deliver high quality analysis, designs, reports, and presentations that focus on customer problems and solutions in crypto-security domain and develop positive customer and stakeholder relationships
  3. Collaborate and consult as part of a team in response to requests in the crypto security domain

 

This role is full time, 37 hours per week, based at Malvern Technology Centre with a flexible, adaptive working options.

 

Essential experience of the Crypto Security Specialist

  • Able to advise on how to integrate High grade crypto into wider systems and key management to achieve security outcome in accordance with accepted national good practice (recognised expert consensus)
  • Able to take high-level security objectives and break these down into the security requirements for a relatively complex crypto system in a mission context.
  • Able to propose / design new approaches to meet security requirements for a crypto system in a mission context
  • Understand cyber security, its significance, concepts, threats, vulnerabilities and assurance. 

 

Qualifications for the Crypto Security Specialist

  • Degree level education or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with crypto and key management technology in an academic research or industrial environment or a combination, if however, you have slightly less experience in this domain, you still may be able to be considered 
  • UK Security SC or DV clearance or eligible to apply
