The role

As a Senior Electronic Design Engineer, you’ll have a role that is out of the ordinary, supporting projects in the National Security business where you will be developing digital and RF electronics solutions using cutting edge technology in the commercial and military domains.

 

You’ll be an SME joining other designers with a passion for delivering novel and cutting edge work, with the opportunity for leading work packages within engineering project teams.


Day to day you will:

  • Bring your knowledge and application of electronic design to see these projects through to a successful delivery.
  • Develop rapid solutions to protect UK forces and security
  • Lead technical teams of engineers
  • Opportunity to make a difference to UK security and military operations and interact with these customers.
  • Ongoing career progression by being part of the Electronic Design Group that provides skilled staff into all of QinetiQ UK businesses.
     

This role is full-time, working mainly on-site at Malvern, with opportunities for some flexible adaptive working.

 

Essential experience of the Senior Electronic Design Engineer:]

  • Hands on experience of developing analogue, high speed digital and RF design.
  • Knowledge of electronic standards and their applicability in hardware design
  • Availability for occasional UK travel in support of project delivery
  • Experience with ECAD tools, preferably OrCAD.
  • Understanding of product safety and certification
  • Ability to effectively communicate with people at all appropriate levels within the organisation and externally with customers, suppliers and other stakeholders.

 

Qualifications for the Senior Electronic Design Engineer

  • Degree in Electronics and/or Engineering, desirable


Please note that all applicants must hold, or be eligible to gain SC clearance, as a minimum.  The successful candidate must be willing to apply for an enhanced level of security clearance.
