Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Field Operations, Uncrewed Vehicle Systems Operator is responsible for being an active member of a team in a fast-paced service delivery of Uncrewed Vehicle Systems (including aerial, surface, ground, and control systems) to assist in the training requirements to defence forces, in various locations worldwide.
- Logistically plan the assembly and test of Uncrewed Vehicle Systems, and first line repair, including replacement of line replaceable units, in accordance with the company’s technical documentation.
- Delivering customer requirements that are in line with customer expectations and QinetiQ values.
- Plan and oversee the maintenance of all Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and configuration to the correct settings within tight timelines between taskings.
- Responsible for the setting up of the launcher and support equipment during taskings.
- Launcher site supervisor
- Plan and deliver lessons both practical and theory with company training material.
- Supervise and plan the logistical load out of equipment for operations.
- Oversee the safe refueling of equipment.
- The preparation and removal of systems payloads
- Supervise the handling and preparing pyrotechnics.
- In time supervise the operation and first line of maintenance of the various launcher systems
- Conducting Uncrewed Vehicle Systems retrieval from recovery areas
- Operating in a safe & secure manner
- Complete post flight checks and replenish or repair as necessary.
- Carry out engine running and tuning checks.
- Desalination of systems post sea recovery within recommended timelines.
- Parachute packing
- Willingness to work flexible hours and shifting schedules.
- Requirement to travel to various worldwide locations. Travel may be for long durations, on short notice, and potential for various living conditions such as Military Housing or deployments on-board ships.

- To meet changing business needs, it may be necessary to make some amendments to the role purpose and accountabilities and to take on additional responsibilities
Education/Work Experience Requirements:
- Experience of working in an operational environment
- Domain knowledge of Uncrewed systems including aerial, surface, ground, and control systems would be an asset
- Drone Pilot Certificate – Advanced Operations would be an asset
- Technology or mechanical background required.
- Computer / IT background would be an asset.
- The ability to work autonomously and proactively to changing requirements and demanding environments, including operating onboard ships and in military live fire ranges and working in exposed weather conditions, both day and night
- Experience with air and hydraulic circuits beneficial

Security Requirements:
- Must be a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada
- Able to obtain a NATO Secret Clearance
- Must have a clean background history and obtain criminal record check
Safety Requirements:
- Requirement to maintain a Medical Certification to a minimum Class IV (Self-Declaration)
- Requirement to obtain and maintain a sRPAS Operator Certification or equivalent
- Safety Focused individual
- Valid Passport and willingness to travel
- Immunizations required for the country being deployed
- Physically and medically able to deploy at sea or land for extended periods of time
- Working onboard ship for extended durations
- Ability to multi-task in a computer-operated environment
- Using a computer and associated peripherals
- Sitting for extended periods of time
- Standing for extended periods of time in uncontrolled environments
- Looking at a computer screen for extended periods of time
Additional Requirements:
- Exposed to a variety of environmental and weather conditions (heat, wind, rain, etc.) both day and night
- Ability to lift maximum of 50lbs or (22.86kg)
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle, maintain a valid clean driver’s license, and ability to obtain rental vehicles
- Strong work ethic and ability to work under stress and tight schedules
- Other duties as assigned
This position is safety sensitive due work requirements of being on the factory floor near equipment, field deployment and testing requirements.
