We currently have an immediate requirement for an experienced Defence Aviation Airworthiness Specialist to support the Defence Aviation Safety Authority (DASA). Supporting the Directorate of Initial Airworthiness (DIA) and Directorate of Continuing Airworthiness (DCA) this role will see you being the subject matter expert and authority for:

 

  • DASR 21 Military Type-Certificate Holders (MTCHs), Design and Production Organisation Approvals.
  • DASR M Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisations (CAMOs).
  • DASR 145 Maintenance Organisations (MOs).
  • DASR 147 Maintenance Training Organisations (MTOs).
  • DASR 66 Military Aircraft Maintenance Licences (MAMLs).

 

You will also assist with the development of related policies, procedures, and promotional material

 

To be successful in this role you will need:

 

  • To have demonstrated experience in applying initial and continuing airworthiness regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of Defence aviation structures, including MTCH, Design, Production, and CAMO organisations.
  • Understanding of type-certification concepts, ORs (Operational Requirements), ADs (Airworthiness Directives), MELs, AMPs, and MAMLs.
  • Proven experience with aviation Safety Management Systems and Quality Management Systems.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • A Tertiary qualification in Engineering.
  • Experience from a military aviation environment.

 

This is an exciting opportunity to make a critical contribution to Defence aviation safety and regulation.

 

Due to the nature of the role, applicants must hold a minimum of a Baseline Australian Defence security clearance.
