We are currently looking for an Electronics Technician to join our Integrated Engineering Services division, based in Port Melbourne.
As an Electronics Technician you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of a wide array of unique electronic system projects to budget, schedule and quality working collaboratively with fellow peers, engineers, project managers and clients. This role requires a highly adaptable and detailed-oriented individual who possesses the ability to improvise adapt and overcome.
As an Electronics Technician, your direct key responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Complete Surface Mount and Through-Hole PCB Population – Hand/Manual/Automatic Pick and Place machines
- Rework/Repair, Fault Finding of Electronic Assemblies
- Cable and Wire Harness Manufacturing – Solder and Crimp
- Control Enclosure Fabrication – Front Panel Design, Enclosure Cut outs and Mounting, Wiring and Verification/Validation Testing
- Diagnosing/Fault Finding/Repairing Legacy Electronic Equipment
- Follow engineering schematics and assembly drawings
- Accurately manage configuration of designs, including working to the correct Bill of Materials (BoM)
- Work collaboratively with fellow peers, engineers, project managers and clients
- Support in providing accurate fabrication estimates and quotes for PMs and clients
- Able to provide technical direction to junior staff
- Check work of others (peer review) including formal certification of quality checks
- Participate, collaborate, and contribute at meetings
- Foster collaborative and a high-performance work culture, promoting teamwork, accountability and continuous improvement
- Provide advice and guidance to professional engineers and designers, positively influencing designs and projects
To be successful in the role of Electronics Technician you will need to bring with you:
- Certificate III in Electronics and Communications or equivalent
- Certified in IPC-610 – Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies (or ability to obtain)
- Certified in IPC-7711/7721 – Rework, Modification and Repair of Electronic Assemblies (or ability to obtain)
- Certified in IPC-620 – Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies (or ability to obtain)
- Well-developed professional communication skills (written and verbal)
- Integrity and high personal ethical standards that align with QinetiQ standards
- Ability to work at a fast-pace in a dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities in a timely fashion to the required quality standard
- Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels
- Demonstrates professional integrity, behaviour and attitude for excellence
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients
