With a presence in the United Kingdom, United States, Australia, Canada and Germany, we bring global expertise to local challenges, helping build Australia’s sovereign industrial capability for the future.

Applications are now welcome from Graphic Designers with a flair for creative content creation.  Reporting to the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer and working as part of a small team, you’ll play an important role supporting the delivery of engaging visual and digital content for both internal and external audiences.

This role will be offered on a 12-month maximum term contract basis and in terms of location; we’re flexible to consider applicants in Adelaide, Canberra or Melbourne.

Day to day you will work closely with stakeholders across the business and provide timely and effective design, content creation, and production support. This will include a mix of graphic design, digital content, and desktop publishing, ensuring outputs are clear, visually compelling, and aligned with the corporate brand guidelines. More specifically you will:

  • Provide creative input and practical design advice to deliver effective, high-quality design and content outcomes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to develop engaging, on-brand content for digital, print, and internal channels.
  • Deliver end-to-end design and content projects, including graphic design, illustration, photography, video and digital assets
  • Work closely with stakeholders to interpret briefs, incorporate feedback, and approvals, ensuring clear communication throughout the process.
  • Ensure content, messaging and collateral aligns to the QinetiQ narrative and represents the brand’s purpose, vision and values.
  • Coordinate with external suppliers and contractors to support design and content production, where required.

About You:

You are a creative and detail-oriented professional with strong visual design capabilities and a knack for translating complex and technical concepts into clear, engaging content that resonates with diverse audiences. You bring a solid understanding of content distribution channels and can effectively tailor creative outputs for different platforms and stakeholder groups. Known for your organisational ability, you can manage multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholders simultaneously, while consistently delivering high-quality work to tight deadlines.

Key to your success:

  • Tertiary qualifications in graphic design or similar and demonstrated post qualification experience in a design or content focused, ideally within the defence or similar technology-based organisation.
  • Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and After Effects.
  • Experience producing digital content, including basic photography, video editing, and motion graphics.
  • Flexibility to support business needs, including occasional work outside standard hours.

Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be eligible for Australian Defence security clearance.
