IT Support Officer

Due to exciting growth of the business, QinetiQ are currently looking for an IT Support Officer to join our Client Services team based in Melbourne, Adelaide or Canberra.

 

As part of QinetiQ’s IT group, you will focus on providing 1st, 2nd and where capable 3rd level technical IT support to QinetiQ staff across all of QinetiQ Australia’s computing environments.

 

As IT Support Officer you will be accountable for:

 

  • Troubleshooting and resolving assigned incidents or service requests whilst ensuring prompt professional service
  • Undertaking day-to day administrative duties such as, account management, file & print services management, client set up configuration and support, stock management etc.
  • Maintaining, updating and creating operational, support, knowledge base and end user documentation
  • Working, communicating and cross-skilling with other members of the Client Services team and where appropriate with the greater QinetiQ IT group
  • Reporting to IT Management on key issues and tasks outcomes
  • Actively participating in regular operational meetings based on team and business requirements
  • Complying with legislation and company policies, processes and instructions, including those relating to non-discrimination, safety and duty of care and the quality management system

 

To be successful in the role of IT Support Officer you will need to bring with you:

 

  • Strong understanding of and commitment to high levels of customer service
  • Experience using ITSM system tools including ticketing systems
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • A level of personal integrity and professionalism
  • Strong IT technical skills
  • Working knowledge of technologies such as, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office Suite and basic network fundamentals such as TCP/IP, DHCP and DNS
  • Experience in security and application patching
  • An understanding and awareness of information & cybersecurity and how it is applied in operational environments
  • A willingness to take ownership of assigned tasks and resolve them in a timely fashion
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently
  • Fundamental understanding of ITIL principles

 

Whilst not essential, a tertiary qualification in computer science or information technology would be advantageous.

 

Candidates will need to be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance.
