We are now looking for an additional Imaging Specialist to join our Engineering Services team in Melbourne, Victoria.

About the Role

The Imaging Specialist is responsible for technical photography and scientific imaging for trials, research, and illustrative work. This role involves close collaboration with our clients to produce photographic and video imagery, including lab and field trial support. This position requires a strong technical background in Applied Imaging and Photography (AIP), excellent time management skills and a customer-centric, pro-active approach.

  

In this key role, you will be responsible for;

  • Estimating, planning, and executing the delivery of AIP projects in collaboration with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitoring project progress, identifying potential risks, and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Ensuring AIP deliverables, including all data, are controlled and supplied to clients adhering to relevant security classification requirements.
  • Supporting to in-field trials, including at remote locations.
  • Providing guidance on the selection and implementation of AIP solutions that align with client needs.
  • Managing the local AIP physical workplace, photography studio, storage areas, and ensuring appropriate maintenance and calibration of relevant equipment.
  • Participating, collaborating, and contributing at meetings at all levels.
  • Establishing trusted relationships with clients to identify new business opportunities.
  • Ensuring all AIP is implemented safely and according to both QinetiQ and the relevant regulatory Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) requirements.
  • Ensuring all OH&S plans and procedures are effectively implemented in work area.

 

 To be successful for the role of Imaging Specialist you will need:

  • Proven and relevant AIP experience
  • In-depth knowledge of AIP technologies and methodologies
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients
  • Positive and proactive attitude
  • Excellent problem solving and time management skills
  • Have the ability to work under pressure in remote areas

 

Whilst not essential, experience in the following is desirable:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Photography or similar), or Applied Imaging Professional, or equivalent industry experience.

 

Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be eligible for Australian Defence security clearance. Current security clearance is preferred.
