We are now looking for a Project Manager to join our Integrated Engineering Services (IES) business unit that works on site in partnership with DSTG at Fishermans Bend. Reporting to the Delivery Manager for IES, the Project Manager role is responsible for managing the planning, execution and successful delivery of projects. This role requires a highly organised and detailed-oriented individual who possesses strong project management skills and principles, has developed financial acumen, and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and cross-functional teams while maintaining effective and timely business processes.
As the Project Manager your responsibilities will include:
- Manage numerous engineering projects throughout the entire project lifecycle, i.e. customer needs elicitation, project requirements development, design, manufacturing, testing and verification.
- Manage projects in accordance with the applicable Project Management framework, Technical Management System (TMS), and Quality Management System requirements
- Manage single and multi-department projects with engineering, fabrication, manufacturing, applied imaging, facilities and trials teams.
- Ongoing engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
- Developing project schedules, budgets, and quotes for various sized projects, and managing those projects through to completion.
- Tracking and updating projects, including the status of budget, schedule, and scope.
- Engaging and managing contractors and suppliers to support project execution.
- Liaising with procurement to arrange purchases of equipment and materials in accordance with procurement processes.
- Liaise with Deputy Chief Engineers to ensure appropriate artefacts are generated for the project.
To be successful in the role you will require:
- Vocational qualification (Diploma) in Project Management (preferable) supported by relevant project management experience delivering projects within a complex environment; or
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in an appropriate discipline supported by relevant project management experience within a complex environment
- Ability to work independently from supervisors
- Strong stakeholder management experience (Research and Innovation environment experience advantageous).
The role will be based at our Fishermans Bend site.
Due to the nature of the role, applicants must also be eligible for Australian Defence security clearance.
