Applications are invited for a new role within our Legal and Commercial team. Reporting to the Commercial & Contracts Director, you’ll provide commercial and contract management expertise across a range of complex and strategic commercial arrangements, ensuring sound business outcomes, effective risk management, and compliance with contractual and governance requirements.
Working with a high degree of autonomy, you will lead complex commercial and contract management activities end-to-end, acting as a key advisor to the business and supporting the Commercial & Contracts Director in decision-making, escalation, and delivery.
In terms of day-to-day activities, you will support Australian business units and Growth (business development) function, establishing new commercial arrangements (pre-contract award) and managing existing commercial arrangements (post-contract award). As required, you will also work as part of integrated bid teams, providing commercial support to business winning opportunities, and help shape the ongoing development of our Commercial and Contract Management policy framework.
In terms of location, this key role may be based in Brisbane, Canberra or Melbourne to suit you.
About you
You are a seasoned commercial and contracts management professional with significant exposure to complex or high-value arrangements and demonstrated experience operating with a high level of autonomy on commercial and contractual matters. You are tertiary qualified in Business, Commerce, Contracts and/ or Law or have equivalent experience and have deep commercial acumen. You’ll also bring:
- A strong track record in leading complex commercial and contractual activities across the lifecycle with demonstrated capability in contractual risk identification, assessment, and resolution
- An ability to operate independently and apply significant judgement on complex and ambiguous commercial issues
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- Superior written communication skills across bids, proposals, reports, and contract documentation
- Advanced negotiation skills
Whilst not essential, Commonwealth contracting or Defence or similar regulated industry experience such as manufacturing or similar is preferred.
