Headquartered in Nowra, New South Wales, QinetiQ Air Affairs provides targets and training services, and electronic warfare capabilities to the Australian Defence Force, in addition to aerial surveillance and reconnaissance in support of government firefighting efforts. Air Affairs owns and operates a fleet of special mission aircraft and maintains an advanced manufacturing and engineering facility providing design, manufacture and certification operations.
We are looking for a number of Aviation Operations Controllers/Crew Controllers.
As an experienced aviation professional we are looking for you to join our team in Nowra as a crew controller supporting our defence and government missions.
As an Aviation Operations / Crew Controller in this small team you will be responsible for the safe delivery of our various contracts and will be supporting our crew and pilots by:
- Overseeing the operation of our fleet of aircraft
- Allocating resources based on need and availability
- Understanding crew rosters and compliance with flight and duty times
- Liaise with port resources such as fuel and landing slots
- Co-ordinate emergency responses when required
- Organising travel and accommodation for crew
What you will bring;
- A passion for aviation and commitment to a safety first environment
- Experience from General Aviation, Charter Operations, Defence or Commercial Aviation
- A willingness to do shift work, both onsite and from home
- An ability to solve complex problems and manage short notice changes or disruptions
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience with the Office Suite of programs
- Experience with LEON or other flight operations software (Ideal)

- Strong fault finding skills and a wiliness to learn
- To be an Australian Citizen and willing to gain NV1 defence security clearance
