Headquartered in Nowra, New South Wales, QinetiQ Air Affairs, part of QinetiQ’s Threat Representation business unit, provides targets and training services, and electronic warfare capabilities to the Australian Defence Force, in addition to aerial surveillance and reconnaissance in support of government firefighting efforts. Air Affairs owns and operates a fleet of special mission aircraft and maintains an advanced manufacturing and engineering facility providing design, manufacture and certification operations.
We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer with experience in Co-ordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to support our quality control function, ensuring that our products consistently meet or exceed customer expectations. In addition to programming, updating, and maintaining our (CMM), this role will also provide vital support as a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) operator during high-demand periods.
Your day to day role will see you joining a supportive team to;
- Drive continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Conduct product quality inspections to uphold our high standards.
- Measure and analyse sample and production parts for compliance with engineering specifications.
- Oversee daily production records and ensure adherence to established processes and standards.
- Provide constructive feedback to the production team for process enhancement.
- Collaborate with management and supervisors to maintain efficient production practices.
As our ideal candidate you will bring;
- Experience in CNC and ideally CMM but a willingness to learn or move into a quality role would also be considered.
- An understanding of design tolerances and the manufacturing process of high quality complex parts.
- Attention to detail and organisation skills.
- Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering
You will be provided with an opportunity to learn, develop your skills in an advanced manufacturing environment and support critical infrastructure to the ADF.
Candidates will need to be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance.
