The Role

As a Grounds Maintenance Operative, you will deliver facilities management grounds maintenance services and support to the respective standard and ensure the key first and last impressions on the site.

 

Day-to-day, you will be responsible for undertaking maintenance, such as tree work, strimming, mowing grass to a specific height around our explosives area and potential for pressure washing tasks in the future.

 

You will also:

  • Provide grounds maintenance and support services including specialist grounds services including attention to pest and tree hazards
  • Maintain knowledge / awareness of grounds / land legislative, standards & technical requirements and developments
  • Prioritise the work programme to satisfy business needs
  • Form part of the on call rota during periods on inclement weather, supporting site preparations & response to enable ongoing safe access / use of premises
  • Ensure robust application of health, safety & environmental procedures and processes
  • Oversee the conduct of contractors on site, monitoring the implementation & performance of tasks allocated
  • Identify & ensure all key assets are available and appropriately maintained, making recommendations on improvements & additional requirements to FM / business leads as appropriate

 

Essential experience of the Grounds Maintenance Operative:

  • Proactive, drive and enthusiasm ' can do approach'
  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
  • Ability to organise / prioritise work / problem solve
  • Ability to thrive as part of a team and work independently where appropriate
  • Manual handling awareness / risk appreciation
  • Previous experience in a similar role 

 

Qualifications for the Grounds Maintenance Operative:

  • Full driving licence
  • Ability to safely deploy equipment / processes
