The Role
Be part of the QinetiQ journey. Join us as a dECommercial Manager within the UK Defence arm of the business where you will provide commercial and contracts advice and support within multi-disciplined Integrated Delivery Teams (IDT). This strategy will contribute to our Business Winning and should include all aspects of legal (T’s and C’s), pricing, Intellectual Property, in addition to contributing to effective and efficient contractual management of contracts within the portfolio.

 

You will be working within the Maritime and Land area working specifically for Platform Design and Life Support IDT. This delivery team supports shaping the future of ships and submarines by delivering outstanding maritime services globally. The Platform Design and Life Support IDT is a centre of excellence for naval architecture, hydromechanics, structures & survivability and maritime life support. Our Goal is to support our customers with solutions to their Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Life Support and Software needs through maximising our core work combined with diversifying and growing into adjacent commercial business streams.

 

Day to day, you will:

  • Be responsible for contributing to commercial and contractual support including customer bidding and contracting, advising on export and import control (in support of our trade solutions team), risk management, change control, contract and document drafting, and issue resolution
  • Demonstrate general commercial acumen on tenders and contracts which are typically non-standard, of medium to high complexity, or supporting senior commercial staff on major projects, or new business campaigns
  • Be a member of a dynamic commercial and contracts management team, reporting to an experienced Commercial lead, where your hard work and professional experience will be expected to generate innovative commercial solutions
  • Support contract management activities as part of your role, which may include engagement with any phase of the contract lifecycle.  You will manage relevant post contract processes, ensuring continued customer satisfaction

 

This role will be full time, 37 hours a week. Based at our Hasler site 2-3 days per week on an adaptive working basis.

 

Experience of the Deputy Commercial Manager:

  • Commercial Management experience
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • An accountable self-starter
  • A motivated learner
  • Active Security Clearance 

 

Qualifications of the Deputy Commercial Manager:

  • Accredited to IACCM (WCC) Advanced Practitioner status or higher, or MCIPS qualified, with around 5 years of practical experience in a commercial role.
