The Role
Join QinetiQ as a Project Manager within Construction and take the lead in delivering high-impact construction and estate management projects across our diverse portfolio. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful completion of projects from inception to handover, maintaining the highest standards of service delivery.

Day-to-day, you will:

  • Organise and Manage small to medium scale construction projects, the project team and its delivery from start to finish
  • Define with support and maintain under review the overall aims and objectives of the Project, together with their relative priorities, and the overall scope of the Project
  • Define with support and agreeing an appropriate budget, delivering the Project within this budget and managing and reporting progress against an agreed cost plan and Programme
  • Managing with support the activities of the external advisors, including the management of their appointments, via appointed Procurement Team Managers within QinetiQ
  • Management of project documentation to include bids, proposals and third party documentation (configuration control)
  • Deploy appropriate Risk and Issue management strategies and methods for controlling quality

 

This role is full-time, 37 hours per week you will based at either our Farnborough or Portsmouth site. The ability and willingness to travel to other various sites is required.
 
Experience of the Project Manager – Construction:

  • Demonstrable experience delivering construction based projects
  • Working knowledge of Building Regulations and Construction methodology, JSP standards and CDM Regulations
  • A broad knowledge of civil engineering, infrastructure and building works methods and sustainability
  • Fully conversant with RIBA Plan of Work stage process
  • Operational knowledge of NEC contracts as well as JCT
