The Role
As a Project Manager in our UK Defence function you will be the figure head and focal point for projects, leading multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful achievement of internal and customer objectives.

 

Day to day, you’ll lead the delivery of projects within the Future Systems Portfolio of the IDT which is one of five programme areas within Combat Communication and Information Systems IDT The portfolio is responsible for delivery of Autonomy/ uncrewed research and trials in the UK and cutting-edge Radar research and you will leverage our systems of systems expertise to establish new business streams ​and develop digital enablers and facilities to expand maritime delivery in the short term and expand into cross domain integration activities.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Development and maintenance of positive engagement with portfolio customers, partners, suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Delivery of the Project outcomes, to agreed baseline (customer satisfaction, time, cost and quality)
  • Partnering with the Operations and Engineering leadership teams to ensure a collegiate and efficient approach to the delivery of portfolio outcomes
  • Ensuring the delivery of orders, revenue and margin (ORM) portfolio targets in line with IDT performance objectives
  • Ensure all activities across project delivery are conducted in line with the Operating Framework 

 

Essential experience of the Project Manager: 

  • Experience gained, typically rather than necessarily, between 1-4 years of leading a business, projects, or P3 function; successful delivery of projects.
  • Leading a business, projects, programmes, portfolios or P3 function and successfully delivering complex projects.
  • Experience delivering projects to multiple customers.
  • Experience of working in Defence or other regulated industry

 

Essential qualifications for the Project Manager:

  • Industry recognised qualification such as Prince2, AMP, PMP

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Portsmouth site with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week.
