Weapons Science:
Our teams come from a variety of science, engineering and mathematics backgrounds.They conduct research and assess weapons systems that range from long-range missiles to small arms, providing advice that enables our Customers to ensure that these critical assets are effective and safe. They have a detailed knowledge of the technologies embedded within the weapon systems and conduct both analysis and practical evaluation of these systems.
This particular role involves conducting qualification, evaluation and assessment of general and complex weapon systems, as well as providing expertise in weapon engineering and ammunition assessment. The role involves practical test and trials and also analytical work to understand functionality, performance and safety.
You will work alongside other teams at Fort Halstead who are also involved in the evaluation and testing of weapon systems and explosive materials in order to ensure that systems are both safe and perform to the highest levels. Our work is unusual, but absolutely critical to saving lives and protecting our sovereign nation. You will be working with a number of science and engineering teams, all with a common interest and passion for their technical areas and in supporting our Customers.

Academic requirements:
You must have obtain or be predicted:
- 3 x A Levels at grades AAA (144 UCAS points or above) to include Mathematics and a Physical Science
Or
- BTEC Diploma grade D*D*, with an A grade A level Mathematic
Or
- BTEC Extended Diploma grade DDD, including two Mathematics units
You must also have obtained:
- GCSE A*-C, 4 - 9 in Maths & English Language
Additional requirements:
- Passionate about Engineering with extracurricular activities that reflect this.
- Strong written ability
- Team / leadership experience (including positions held in hobbies &/or academic projects)
