The Role

As a Receptionist you will undertake a range of reception duties across the business always presenting a positive image of QinetiQ ensuring that processes and procedure are followed.

Day-to-day, you will work as the initial point of contact for any site visitors to QinetiQ’s Fort Halstead site presenting a positive image to a variety of stakeholders presenting a positive image and assisting with enquiries.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Demonstrating and understanding concepts of Business Administration Services whilst having awareness of other business areas
• Providing reception service and assistance to, internal and external customers
• Providing support to groups of visitors, i.e booking onto site, using standard procedures and in line with health and safety and security requirements
• Maintaining a range of records, entering, collating and organisting data using standard methods to assist with data analysis
• Managing a large volume of telephone calls utilising voicemail, E-Mail for self and on behalf of others
• Assisting with the booking of rooms, catering, and resources for meetings. This includes photocopying, printing, shredding etc

Essential experience of the Receptionist:

• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook
• Good organisational skills with the ability to multi-task
• Strong attention to detail
• Willingness to learn new skills and processes
• Previous experience working in a customer service environment

This role is 37 hours per week-based at our Fort Halstead Site. This role is fully on-site. The hours of the reception on site 07:30-16:00 Monday to Thursday and 07:30-15:30 on a Friday, so some flexibility on working times may be required.

Our facilities at Fort Halstead, located in Kent, focus on a wide range of defence-related research, particularly weapons systems and military technology. Modern laboratories enable engineers and scientists to conduct high-tech research in material science, systems engineering, and advanced simulation techniques.
