The Shoeburyness site has a unique terrain enables the over-water recovery of munitions up to a range of 22km, ground-to-ground firings of up to 27km and long-range direct fire up to 3.5km. MOD Shoeburyness is also a centre of excellence for environmental testing of ordnance, munitions and explosives

 

The  Role
As a Multi-Skilled Building Services Engineer with an electrical bias, you'll work within a wider team to deliver a range of hard facilities management (FM) at  the site. This hands-on role will focus on mechanical, electrical and hard FM competencies, as well as  stakeholder and customer engagement.

 

Day to day, you’ll provide the delivery of maintenance across all aspects of building services:

  • Provide maintenance support (including installations; planned, preventive and corrective maintenance) in relation to site services, plant / equipment and buildings
  • Deliver specialist technical maintenance support  services in relation to building plant / equipment
  • Prioritisation of work programme to satisfy business needs
  • Form part of the on call rota within the Maintenance Team
  • Ensure robust application of health, safety & environmental procedures and processes
  • Ensure maintenance standards and quality of work delivered are to the required level
  • Oversee the conduct of contractors on site; monitoring the implementation and performance of tasks allocated
     

Skills and experience of the Building Services Engineer 

  • Strong knowledge of  building services across all disciplines with a key competency in electrical maintenance. 
  • Good knowledge and level of competency in other areas of building services (BMS, mechanical services etc)
  • Testing & Inspection
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Ability to solve problems and make decisions

 

Qualifications for the Building Services Engineer 

  • Engineering  / Technical qualification: Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 (in an electrical subject)
  • 18th Edition or ability to work towards this
  • Full clean driving licence
