The Role
As a Project Manager in our UK Defence function you will be part of the Estates Management team where you will be comfortable working with primary contractors, able to oversee technical repairs and building surveys as required.

Day to day, you will hold responsibility for the full project management lifecycle from planning through to execution on a variety of projects. These will vary from general building maintenance and refurbishment through to more technical requirements/repairs and even new build construction.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Determine the procurement strategy along with the Procurement Team

• Define and manage an appropriate organisation structure to deliver the strategy
• Defining and agreeing an appropriate budget, delivering the Project within this budget and managing and reporting progress against an agreed cost plan
• Management of project documentation to include Bids, proposals and third-party documentation
• Close the Project on completion of the last commercial arrangement, having ensured that a robust facilities management mechanism team is in place with adequate procedures to manage facility

Essential experience of the Project Manager: 

• Working knowledge of Planning Application and GPDO processes
• Understanding of sustainability and energy aspects of project delivery
• Working knowledge of Building Regulations
• Working knowledge of JSP standards
• Working knowledge of the Construction, Design Management (CDM) Regulations and must have acted as client or similar role on a construction related project
• Operational knowledge of NEC contracts

Essential qualifications for the Project Manager:

• Industry recognised qualification such as Prince2, AMP, PMP

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Shoeburyness MOD QinetiQ site with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week.

Shoeburyness

QinetiQ Shoeburyness is a significant test and evaluation facility specialising in defence and security technologies. The site is focused on Environmental Testing including the evaluation of various ordnance, explosives and related systems. Implementing measures to ensure that testing activities comply with environmental regulations and minimise ecological impact.
