The Role:
As a Static Detonation Operations Lead you will be responsible for overseeing full operations, maintenance and safety protocols of the SDC facility being responsible for all aspects of its safe operation.
Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for developing capability within the team developing an effective working environment whilst meeting requirements of the business.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Being responsible for mentoring members of your team through change initiatives
- Developing capability within your team in line with the TL Demilitarisation Ops Managers recommendations
- Developing an effective working environment that facilitates vibrant and collaborative working
- Being recognised as an SME in regards to all aspects of Ordnance munitions and explosives internally with colleagues and the wider community
- Creating collaborative working relationships improving team capability
Essential experience of the Static Detonation Operations Lead:
- Experience in managing industrial or military demilitarisation operations
- A high degree of acumen of safety regulations and environmental compliance related to munitions destruction/disposal
- Previous experience working in a leadership role
- The ability to develop, manage and build collaborative environments
Essential qualifications for the Static Detonation Operations Lead:
- Recognised EOD qualifications at operator level or industry equivalent

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Shoeburyness site. This role is a fully on-site role.
QinetiQ Shoeburyness is a significant test and evaluation facility specialising in defence and security technologies. The site is focused on Environmental Testing including the evaluation of various ordnance, explosives and related systems. Implementing measures to ensure that testing activities comply with environmental regulations and minimise ecological impact.
