Project Manager - Experimentation and T&E

We are currently looking for a Project Manager – Experimentation and Test and Evaluation to join our Engineering Services business, in Sydney for a 12 month contract. This role will be responsible to work with a Defence Client to plan and assist with execution of innovation experimentation and test & evaluation activities for innovative technology. 


As a Project Manager you will be responsible for shaping and expanding follow-on work and requires the successful candidate to be embedded within an Army unit and operate independently from the broader QinetiQ team and your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to;

  • Establishing the framework for experimentation and T&E activities to deliver on unit innovation and experimentation goals.
  • Plan, organise and deliver experimentation and T&E activities, including management of schedule, resources, budget and risk.
  • Develop, review and communicate planning and reporting documentation.
  • Build and maintain stakeholder network to leverage ADF capabilities in support of project
  • Apply technical and professional knowledge to the unit Project Management and Experimentation and T&E processes.

Desired experience includes:

  • Demonstrated project management experience with a background in Army capability development
  • Background or experience in innovation processes for novel and emerging technologies such as Design Thinking, Lean or Agile.
  • Highly developed communication and presentation skills including generation of Defence documentation in accordance with relevant writing standards
  • Project management qualifications viewed favourably
  • Experience with the application of Defence T&E Policy viewed favourably


Applicants MUST be eligible to obtain an Australian Government security clearance.
