We are excited to invite applications from up-and-coming Software Engineers/Developers to join our Engineering Services team in Adelaide.
Reporting to the Software & Integrated Solutions Team Lead, you will perform a wide variety of structured technical engineering tasks with limited scope and complexity by establishing the nature of the problem and analysing solutions from a range of possible alternatives using standard procedures.
The Software Engineer will be accountable for:
- Working under supervision of more senior engineers and assisting with their work
- Adhering to prescribed standard engineering methods and procedures
- Quality of the tasks performed or services provided
- Developing higher level knowledge and skills and building knowledge of the organisation, processes, and customers
- Demonstrating good capability to communicate through code comments and contributions to technical documentation and engineering artefacts
- Participating in code review
- Regularly developing artefacts for the QinetiQ TMS or other external EMS.
- Focusing on personal development and technical excellence
- Operating autonomously through all stages of the software development lifecycle and makes solid contributions to the Software Engineering process
As a suitably experienced and well-rounded Engineer, the Software Engineer will have:
- Completed at least graduate diploma in Computer Science or completed a degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
- Ability to develop well defined software requirements and deliver value to projects
- The ability to learn and effectively use SE tools and frameworks on any given task
- Motivation to work towards becoming a SME in Software Engineering technologies, tools or frameworks
- Active engagement in understanding customer needs and requirements beyond the stated requirements
- Ability to participate in group opportunities such as lessons learned and team retrospectives
Due to the nature of the role, applicants must hold a Baseline Australian Government Security Clearance or be eligible to obtain one.
