The Role
As a Senior Service Architect, you will be working in a both internal and customer facing role working across QinetiQ’s service portfolio designing the service wrapper to provide service support and management for customer solutions and managed service propositions into customers and key markets.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll work with customer-facing teams to design and deliver service integration, support and management models to meet customer requirements and service or solution deliverables, following the principles and processes within the Service Design and Transition framework.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and providing expert guidance on Service Management and Service Design & Transition, helping shape best practice across the Service Design team and wider business 
  • Collaborating with customer-facing teams to define service wrappers, support models, and service requirements for new customer solutions and service offerings
  • Acting as a Subject Matter Expert in bids and proposals, identifying customer and business requirements and ensuring appropriate support models and associated costs are defined
  • Developing, maintaining, and promoting SD&T frameworks, policies, processes, templates, and documentation to support consistent and effective project and programme delivery
  • Engaging and influencing stakeholders to ensure SD&T processes are understood, adopted, and aligned with organisational governance requirements
  •  Leading the transition of services into live operation, working closely with Service Desk, Technical Operations, and SD&T colleagues to ensure operational readiness and ongoing support capability

 

Essential experience of the Senior Service Architect: 

  • Significant Experience in Service Design Transition and Service Architecture within large, complex organisations
  • The ability to mentor and lead others on the subject of service design and transition
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Previous experience in converting customer business needs to solutions involving business Service Design and Portfolio Management
  • Proven experience identifying improvement to service delivery ensuring we are adding value to the services we provide to our customers
  • The ability to influence stakeholders and engage with customers across various positions and levels

 

Essential qualifications for the Senior Service Architect:

  • ITIL V3/ITIL4 foundation
  • ITIL V4 Managing Professional (Desirable)

This role is 37 hours per week based at any of our main UK sites with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week. Customer travel is required.
