  • Form part of a collaborative multi-disciplinary team of Capability Leads, generating bid winning proposals through an AEC Solution Delivery Plan and successfully deliver a range of challenging, complex and novel projects within the AEC.
  • Participate in robust change management throughout the project lifecycle, maintaining compliance with CAA /MAA regulatory obligations.

This role is a full-time position based at our MoD Boscombe Down site in Salisbury with some flexibility for home working available.

  • Exceptional leadership qualities, with extensive experience operating in a senior engineering leadership role and the ability to motivate and guide individuals to achieve the balance between safety, quality, cost and schedule.
  • Substantial experience of CAA Part 21.J and MAA DOAS aviation regulations and certification processes, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrable experience as CAA Part 21.J Compliance Verification Engineer is highly desirable.
  • Proven leadership of avionic design engineers throughout the project lifecycle, including verification, validation, test and customer acceptance phases of aircraft modification projects.
  • Demonstrable professional communication skills; with the ability to challenge and table logical and convincing technical arguments in the field of Avionics in formal internal, customer and CAA/MAA regulator reviews.

Qualifications for the Capability Lead:

  • Degree at Grade 2.1 or higher in an appropriate engineering subject coupled with commensurate experience in the field of aircraft avionic systems.
  • Demonstrable experience of CAA Part 21.J, route to certification and operating under Flight Test Permit to Fly basis.
