The Role
As a Programme Manager, The Maritime business within QinetiQ is involved in a wide variety of exciting projects and programmes across the ships acquisition market. As a member of our project management community, you can expect to be leading teams to deliver projects in the UK, as well as supporting international opportunities as we grow.
Day-to-day, you will be responsible for leading a cross functional team (including functional management of project professionals) in the delivery of high value complex engineering outputs for the Ships Acquisition portfolio within our Combat, Communication, and Information Systems Integrated Delivery Team (IDT). Our projects have a diverse set of stakeholders, both internally and externally, with primary customers and supply chain in the Maritime domain.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivery of a complex Ships Acquisition programme with revenues of £15M+ per annum
- Planning and delivery of demonstrable efficiencies through the contract lifecycle focussing on customer value and benefits realisation
- Delivery of the Programme outcomes to agreed baseline including customer satisfaction, time, cost, quality, cash, and sale objectives
- Leadership and line management of a team of Project Mangers in delivery of the programme
- Maintenance of forecasts, both financial and resource demand signal for sales and delivery which reflects the up-to-date expectations for the work
Essential experience of the Programme Manager:
- Demonstrable capability to International Project Management Association Level A
- Experienced leading programmes or complex projects to up to 3 different customers
- Experience in Defence, Aerospace, or other closely related sectors
Essential qualifications for the Programme Manager:
- Degree or higher degree in appropriate discipline
- Hold a recognised PM qualification: APM, ChPP, APM PPQ
