QinetiQ’s IT organisation is evolving to provide the advanced technology and IT services that underpin QinetiQ’s future global strategy and ambitions.  We are now accepting applications for a Senior IT Security Analyst with flexibility to be based in either Adelaide, Canberra, Melbourne or Nowra

Reporting to the CISO the Senior IT Security Analyst will work closely with QinetiQ’s IT and Security teams to provide specialist security analysis, advice and technical expertise to help protect QinetiQ’s assets from cyber threats.

The Senior IT Security Analyst you will be accountable for:

• Assist and participate in the execution of penetration testing and red/blue team exercises;
• Support IT operational teams with the design and implementation of new cybersecurity technologies;
• Monitoring, investigate and lead response activities to cyber security incidents;
• Report to IT Management on key issues and task outcomes;
• Assume leadership responsibilities for the IT Security team, when the Manager is away, or on leave;
• Conduct technical vulnerability assessments of systems to identify vulnerabilities/risks lead the tracking and remediation of discovered vulnerabilities; and
• Participate in QinetiQ emerging global SOC.

As a suitably experienced and well-rounded security professional, the Senior IT Security Analyst will have:

• Experience in a similar IT Security role, or equivalent;
• Excellent problem solving skills;
• Experience working with technologies, such as:
  • Microsoft M365/Azure Platforms;
  • Microsoft Active Directory;
  • SIEM;
  • EDR/XDR Technologies;
  • Vulnerability Management technologies; and
  • Network fundamentals, such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS.

• In-depth understanding of information & cyber security and its application within operational IT environments;

Whilst not essential, a tertiary qualification in computer science, cyber security or information technology and certifications such as SANS, CISSP, CCSP and/or CompTIA Security+ qualifications would be advantageous.

Candidates will need to be eligible to obtain a Negative Vetting Level 1 Australian Government Security Clearance.
