The Role
As a Business Systems Manager, you will provide direct management of QinetiQ Business Management System, which is our repository for the mandatory and non-negotiable governance documents required to run our business, such as policies, Group Requirements and associated Instructions
A key aspect will be to engage with content owners to ensure that content is, and continues to align to QinetiQ’s material risks, adequately describes the risk and the mitigation required to ensure that the risk can be managed in a clear and standard manner
Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintain and continuously improve the BMS to ensure its clarity and accessibility to optimise adoption and compliance
- Engage with content owners to ensure that their content addresses risk and mitigation strategies required to manage the risk effectively
- Review and approve new content where required; ensuring that it robustly meets the risk alignment, format and quality required and working with the content owner to improve the content as required
- Promote the BMS to ensure that users understand its purpose, benefits and can navigate the platform to find content easily to aide adoption
Essential experience of the Business Systems Manager:
- Strong understanding of Business Management Systems with respect to document management systems which aide and drive the effective delivery of our business
- Ability to influence stakeholders to ensure that all published content is fit for purpose
- Ability to act as an Ambassador of the BMS ensure that employees, at various levels, understand the role and purpose of the BMS and drive its use and adoption
- Strong written and presentation skills focussed on simplifying and effectively communicating requirements required of a process
- The ability to identify problem areas in the business and take remedial action in a flexible, supportive and pro-active manner
- 3 years’ experience in a similar role from a highly regulated industry
Essential qualifications for the Business Systems Manager:
- Degree educated
- Demonstrable background using SharePoint and Document Management Systems

This role is 37 hours per week based at either our Farnborough, Malvern or Boscombe Down facilities. Hybrid working patterns are available with an expectation that you’ll be onsite 3 days per week.
Malvern
The Malvern facility is noted for its work in electronic warfare, surveillance and complex system integration, contributing significantly to the UK’s defence capabilities. Developing technologies for military and civilian applications, including sensors, communications and cyber security.
Farnborough
At our Farnborough site exciting work takes place at our state-of-the-art facility, with high-energy laser technologies, our 5m pressurised wind tunnel which has a simulation capability that is unique in the UK and our large research and development projects is a real hub of creativity, research and innovation. Boscombe Down
MOD Boscombe Down is a unique operational site featuring the longest military runway in the UK. Primarily focusing on providing testing, evaluation and support services for aviation and aerospace systems. Renowned for its extensive flight-testing capabilities the site plays a vital role in the UK’s aviation defence contributing to the development, testing and airworthiness of military aircraft enhancing operational readiness and effectiveness.
