The Roles:
It is an exciting time to be part of QinetiQ we currently have several opportunities in our Structural Integrity Engineers and would love to hear from candidates who are interested in joining us as we continue to grow into new markets around the world. These roles sit within our Engineering discipline, underpinning the requirements our customers call upon. You will work closely with others and often have direct contact with internal and external customers, including teams developing bespoke technology.

What our Structural Engineers do:
- Acting as technical specialist / leader and supporting the Project Engineer and Project Manager in technical delivery, with accountability for time, cost and quality of team and individual work
- Production of timely and proactive engineering outputs, through attending and contributing to meetings and other communication methods, both formal and informal, as required
- Ensuring effective governance of all airworthiness and safety advice, to demonstrate that the technical solution meets appropriate regulatory, legal, safety and engineering standards
- Fully capturing and understanding the customers’ requirements and providing innovative solutions to customers’ problems
- Building and development of customer relationships to seek out new or follow-on opportunities
- Providing Technical Assurance of engineering outputs where appropriate and in line with experience and delegations
Essential/Desirable experience of the Structural Integrity Engineers:
- BEng / MEng in Aeronautical Engineering or similar (e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science)
- Ability to communicate effectively with the Customer including written and verbal outputs
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with the wider Structures team and other disciplines and partners as part of an integrated delivery team.
- Experience and understanding of UK military aircraft engineering and operating practices
- Experience and understanding of UK MOD and DE&S responsibilities and activities
- Knowledge of MAA regulations and understanding of MoD and MAA airworthiness policy and its application
- Appreciation or experience of the work of a Design Organisation
- Legal and regulatory awareness within the Airworthiness domain and, in particular, the provision of advice pertaining to Airworthiness and the management of Safety

This role is 37 per week based at one of our key UK sites. Hybrid working patterns are available.
