QinetiQ is seeking multiple experienced AI/ML Engineers with expertise in Aided Target Recognition (AiTR) to support the development of new C5ISR technology systems at our customer site in Fort Belvoir, VA. The selected applicants will be responsible for the following:

  • Support development of different AiTR system components to create an in-house complete AiTR system. Incorporate operator needs and feedback into the system design.
  • Assess vendors’ AiTR components that are separate from their object detection and recognition algorithm.
  • Design experiments to compare manual vs. AiTR-enhanced threat detection.
  •  
  • Develop real-time systems for AiTR demonstration with our sensor(s) and processing hardware. Includes interfacing with the sensor imagery, sensor metadata, and the AiTR system.
  • Package and deploy our in-house baseline AiTR for real-time testing and demonstration.
  • Develop tools/setups to support our programs (e.g., labeling tools, tools for experiments, AiTR-hardware demo setups).
  • Process large amounts of data for lab ingest, data labeling, and data sharing with other groups.
  • Organize data in our local RAID server and set up database for easy query and retrieval.

  • Plan and optimize data collections. Coordinate with the program and AiTR efforts.
  • Support processing and handling of collected data. Coordinate with AiTR efforts to determine priority data.

 

To Land This Job, You Need:

 

  • BS or higher degree in Data Science, Machine Learning, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or applicable engineering or science field
  • Knowledge of AiTR system components (e.g., metadata contextual information, real-time object tracking, human systems interface).
  •  
  • Knowledge in Deep Learning, Classical ML, and Computer Vision.
  • Experience in training, testing, and deploying ML models, especially for Computer Vision applications.
  • 5-10 years’ experience designing, developing and implementing AI/ML algorithms to include 2D and 3D image mensuration and Overlay onto 3D Digital Maps, multispectral image fusion, Foveated smart imagery, scene change detection, facial intent, data labeling, semantic understanding and classification of dynamic scene and posing intent.
  • Knowledge of AiTR system components (e.g., metadata contextual information, real-time object tracking, human systems interface).
  • Knowledge/experience with operator’s workload for threat detection.
  • Strong coding skills in Python and/or C++.
  • Experience with Machine Learning and Computer Vision libraries (e.g., Pytorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-Learn, OpenCV).
  • Experience with image processing programming and theory.
  • Experience in software development.
  • Experience with Linux.
  • Experience with Docker.
  • Knowledge of optics and sensors (IR/HSI/LIDAR/etc.).
  • Experience collecting and processing imagery from sensors.
  • Experience with databases and a query language is a plus.
