The Role
As an Test Facility Operations Manager, you will provide support and expertise to deliver strategic maritime operational capabilities.
Day-to-day, you’ll effectively lead the delivery of site operations in accordance with all legal and regulatory frameworks, whilst ensuring successful outcomes to programme and cost and in line with business priorities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the MSCA Operational delivery, the Shock Test capability and Secure & High Performance Computing delivery and budgets, and delivery of Centre for Defence Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine (CDDHM) capability
- Managing the resources to successfully deliver the MSCA operations day to day activity
- Creating a successful facilities team; leading collaboration across multiple functions and sectors
- Leading and managing within a matrix organisation; integrating and delivering best effect to all parts of the business as required
- Empowering and engaging the team to deliver the services in a cost effective manner using your track record of solid delivery and sound business decisions
Essential experience of the Test Facility Operations Manager:
- A broad breadth of experience managing projects and programmes delivering to time constraints and budget
- A working knowledge of financial management techniques to ensure costs and programme are managed accurately
- Ability to quickly recognise and deliver interventions needed to drive change within their facilities and the wider operational environment - experience of facility or operations management
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, able to engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation along with good written, listening and negotiating skills, problem solving and decision making experience
- Sound knowledge of health & safety and environmental legislation
- Working knowledge of risk management processes and techniques including of key regulations and legislation such as DSEAR, Asbestos or other
Essential qualifications for the Test Facility Operations Manager:
- To have attained level 6 qualification (or higher) in relevant field OR equivalent

This role is 37 hours per week based at Haslar. Travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites will be expected including 2-4 days per month at Chichester Hospital as well as 3 occasions per year working at our site in Rosyth, Scotland, for 1-2 days each time.
