The Role
As a Senior Weapons Integration Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the efficient, safe and effective conduct of specific evaluation, test and/or trial activities. This will typically encompass Air platforms and OME (Ordnance, Munitions & Explosives) certification, qualification, performance, operability and safety in the role domains.
Day-to-day, you’ll provide specialist scientific or technical advice and consultation. Tasks will encompass the project lifecycle from technical strategy through to delivery, working as part of multidisciplinary teams requiring solution definition efforts that will be delivered in accordance with the associate Project Delivery Plan.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead and support the safe, efficient, and effective delivery of aerospace mission systems, weapons integration, evaluation, test, and trial activities across air platforms
- Conduct technical assessments relating to certification, qualification, performance, operability, and safety of aircraft, mission systems, and weapon capabilities
- Provide specialist engineering advice and consultation to customers and project teams, supporting complex technical and operational challenges
- Contribute across the full project lifecycle, from requirements capture and solution definition through to delivery in line with Technical Delivery Plans
- Work within multidisciplinary teams to develop and deliver integrated engineering solutions that meet customer and regulatory requirements
- Produce technical, hazard-focused, risk-based assessments and reports covering equipment modifications, platform enhancements, and the introduction of new aircraft, mission systems, and weapon systems
Essential experience of the Aerospace Mission Systems & Weapons Integration Engineer:
- Extensive Aerospace Mission Systems, Avionics or Weapons Integration Engineering experience
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: OME, air weapons integration, mission systems, complex electronic hardware, communications/navigation/identification systems, displays and controls, or sensor and warning systems
- Strong understanding of aircraft systems integration, platform operability, and mission system performance within an operational environment
- Knowledge of military or civil aircraft certification, qualification, regulatory compliance, and applicable safety standards
- Experience in systems testing, evaluation, independent technical assessment, safety auditing, or assurance activities
- Proactive, adaptable and self-motivated engineer with excellent problem-solving skills, a commitment to continuous learning, and the ability to work across diverse technical challenges
Essential qualifications for the Aerospace Mission Systems & Weapons Integration Engineer:
- Hold industry recognised qualified within Aerospace, Aeronautical, Electronic or Systems Engineering field (ONC, HNC, HND or professionally registered EngTech, IEng, CEng, or working towards professional accreditation)

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Lincoln site with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week. We can accommodate candidates working form our other UK hubs including Bristol, Salisbury, Waddington and Warton.
The Lincoln facility is integral to advancing defence technology and providing innovative solutions to meet the demands of modern military operations. Often working in collaboration with other defence organisations, academia and government agencies to foster innovation and develop integrated solutions and complex defence problems.
