The Role

As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering secure cloud capabilities that support critical national security missions.

Day-to-day, you'll work as part of a growing cloud engineering team, designing, building and supporting AWS-based environments for highly secure customer programmes. You'll work closely with technical leads, architects and customer stakeholders to deliver resilient cloud infrastructure, automate deployments and enable the migration of applications and services into AWS environments.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, implementing and supporting secure AWS cloud environments
  • Delivering infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
  • Supporting the migration and hosting of applications and workloads within AWS platforms
  • Monitoring, maintaining and optimising cloud services to ensure performance, resilience and security
  • Working closely with customer stakeholders and engineering teams to deliver technical solutions
  • Contributing to technical documentation, testing activities and continuous service improvement

 

Essential experience of the Senior Cloud Engineer

  • Proven experience working as a Cloud Engineer with at least three years' experience in AWS environments
  • Strong understanding of AWS services including networking, security and platform services
  • Experience developing and managing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
  • Experience using scripting languages such as Python or Shell for automation activities
  • Experience delivering cloud projects within secure, regulated or mission-critical environments
  • Experience working within Agile delivery teams and collaborating with technical stakeholders

 

Essential qualifications for the Senior Cloud Engineer:

  • Active eDV (Enhanced Developed Vetting) clearance
  • AWS Certification (Associate level or equivalent experience)
  • Relevant technical qualification, degree or equivalent industry experience

This role is 37 hours per week based at our customers London site 5 days per week.
