QinetiQ Inc. is seeking a Master Scheduler to manage the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for a larger system engineering effort in support of the Army’s Optionally Manned Fighting Vehicle (OMFV) program. This position will work within a team environment consisting of program management, engineering teams (systems, software, mechanical, electrical, etc.), financial and other supporting staff. This is a career building role that will allow the candidate greater exposure to contract management, system engineering, risk management and program management practices.
Your Contribution to the Mission:
- Work with external teammates to integrate the QinetiQ IMS into the overall program IMS
- Responsible for coordinating with engineering and operations teams to decompose scope and develop the program’s schedule baseline
- Establish baseline and track time, resources, and cost from actuals against the baseline and forecast to include tracking against the critical path
- Develop and or expand on the current IMS to ensure it is fully resource loaded (including costs, personnel, and facility resource considerations) and has a detailed work breakdown structures (WBSs), to include rolling up sub-projects all the way down to the work package level
- Ensure all schedule tasks are logically driven with relationships (predecessor/successor) tied to major program milestones, CDRL deliverables, major program reviews, hardware delivery, high-risk activity, etc.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert for all project activities related to scheduling and provide expertise in IMS development and maintenance and serve as the teams IMS primary point of contact for schedule related items and questions
- Follow best practices in scheduling processes and protocols to ensure vertically and horizontally integrated schedules and scheduling products
- Work with team members to turn project level requirements into a time phased project schedule
- Assess and provide recommendations to team members regarding schedule creation, maintenance, and layout
- Create custom project views and reports on request
- Coordinate with portfolio/project teams to develop a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for incorporation into the IMS and identify level-of effort to support appropriate resource loading/planning activities
- Establish, maintain, and report baseline and current schedule status in efforts to communicate clear, accurate and objective project progress updates
- Develop, document, and implement a consistent scheduling methodology
- Proactively identify and enable project management priorities based on information and priorities articulated in meetings, applications, and master schedule to provide recommendations on how to reduce risk
- Provide impact analysis of changes of requirements or priorities on the project schedule and critical path
- As necessary, participate in portfolio/project meetings to provide direction and guidance on schedule activities
- Provide input to weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports regarding the schedule baseline, performance against the baseline, and associated schedule risks/mitigations
- Conduct evaluations of project schedules, comparing the schedule baseline to actual performance
- Attend team meetings, assist in taking and relaying meeting notes, action items
To Land This Job, You Need:
- The ideal candidate will have strong teambuilding skills, exhibit strong in, and possess comprehensive verbal and written communication/presentation skills
- Bachelor’s degree with 6 years professional related experience - OR - a Master's degree with 4 years of professional related experience. Additional years of related industry experience may be accepted in lieu of degree
- 4 years of project scheduling experience using Microsoft Project, Oracle P6, Deltek Open Plan or other related scheduling tool
- Experience using MS Office Suite, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Preferred qualifications:
- PMP
- Experience supporting Army programs with preference to Program Executive Office Ground Combat Systems (PEO GCS)
