QinetiQ Inc. is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead the development of new technologies aimed at advancing the capabilities of Ground Combat Vehicle (GCV) sensor systems. This position will support our sensor product programs that are part of a team supporting the development of the Army’s new Optionally Manned Fighting Vehicle (OMFV).
Your Contribution to the Mission:
- Lead the OMFV Digital Backbone and MBSE cross-functional team of engineers through the full product lifecycle, to include:

Supporting the mandated use of an open system software and hardware solution called Ground Combat Systems' Common Infrastructure Architecture (GCIA) for the development, maintenance, and delivery of the GCIA common infrastructure portion of the Architecture Model. Ie. GCIA compliant chassis, GCIA compliant compute cards CPU, GPGPU, storage, ethernet switches, etc.

Development of product design descriptions, requirements and system test documentation, safety analysis reports, and technical analyses against requirements.

Support a system reliability program; gathering and analyzing reliability data.

Managing key product performance factors at a system level.

Verifying and validating system and component performance to specifications.

Support development of test fixtures to validate complex systems, subsystems, and components.

Support integration troubleshooting at system and subsystem levels.

Conducting and/or overseeing Trade Studies of COTS system components. IE, Host intrusion Prevention Systems, Firewalls, Syslog Compliant Logging Services, etc.

Needed skills are to support the engineering effort of architecture, analysis, design, modeling, and simulation with architecture integration requirements per the GCIA.

Employ Model Base System Engineering (MBSE) and System Modeling (SysML) language to graphically display system functions and requirements in system models using MagicDraw. Example requirements, design elements include Configured Items, Bill of Material, Technical Data Package, Analytical model flows, verification products, etc.

Develop engineering designs, implement architecture configuration specifications, and enable modeling, activity diagrams and simulation use cases.

Manage requirements verification and traceability throughout design, development and testing phases.

Coordinate and perform in-depth field data collections, tests, and experimentation, including end-user reviews, for prototype systems.

System functionality, performance upgrades, and system transition to production.

Apply innovative approaches to designing, integrating, testing, and producing complex engineering sensor systems.

Recommend future direction of projects to company leadership and deliver technical and program briefs to government and contractor personnel at all levels.

Work with Program Management, the Chief Engineer, and senior Leadership to ensure the quality and overall performance of the engineering team and final product.

Contribute to the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets, and financial terms/conditions of contracts.

Participate in the development of new business opportunities and expansion of existing business opportunities.

Willingness to mentor and train other engineers as well as seek to continually improve processes.
To Land This Job, You Need:
- BS degree or equivalent experience in either Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering.
- 5+ years demonstrated experience in design, integration, and test of vehicle electronics (Vetronics), EO-IR and/or hyperspectral sensors and ground system applications.
- 10+ years of experience leading multidisciplinary team of engineers in executing sensor systems projects. Experience with military ground combat vehicles preferred.
- Hands on experience with Confluence, JIRA, MS Project, MS Office 365, MagicDraw, SysML or similar project management and system engineering tools. Experience with the GCIA is preferred.
