The Role
As a Principle Technical Architect – Systems Integration, you will be a senior technical leader responsible for architecting, integrating, and delivering complex Defence capabilities across land, maritime, air, space, cyber, and C4ISR domains. The role focuses on systems engineering excellence, large-scale integration, and Agile Delivery within the Defence enterprise.
Day-to-day, you will operate as a trusted advisor to MOD stakeholders and Front-Line Commands for an architect that defines and drives the technical strategy for major Defence programmes, competitive bids, and capability transformation initiatives.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading end to end Systems Engineering activities in accordance with Defence and our customers best practices, covering requirements capture, system design, interface definition, verification, validation and acceptance
- Developing and managing system of systems architecture supporting multi domain integration
- Leading technical integration efforts across platforms, sensors, data links, applications, networks, and command-and-control systems overseeing the integration across multiple partners and stakeholders
- Leading technical solutions and architecture development for major MOD bids developing credible, compliant, and value-drive capability propositions
- Developing trusted relationships with MOD stakeholders, Front-Line Commands, and Defence industry partners whilst translating Defence user needs
- Leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams across systems, software, cyber, security, operational analysis, and platform integration fostering a culture of systems thinking
Essential experience of the Principle Technical Architect – Systems Integration:
- Extensive experience solving complex systems engineering and integration projects within the Defence sector
- A strong understanding of Defence acquisition, engineering, and governance frameworks
- Demonstrated experience leading system-of-systems integration across platforms, sensors, networks, and missions systems
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior decision-makers
- Significant involvement in major Defence bids, technical solutions, or acquisition programmes
- Previous experience applying Agile and modern engineering practices in sensitive or heavily regulated environments

This role is 37 hours per week based at either our Farnborough or Malvern site. Hybrid working patterns are available. Customer travel will be required.
