The Role
As a Senior Platform Engineer, you'll play a key role in the design, development and delivery of secure, mission-critical IT infrastructure supporting highly classified customer environments.
Day-to-day, you'll work alongside project managers, architects and engineering teams to design and deliver secure server and network infrastructure solutions. You'll provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable and fit for purpose while supporting some of the UK's most challenging national security programmes.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing secure infrastructure and platform solutions for highly classified environments
- Providing technical leadership and guidance across delivery teams and engineering disciplines
- Producing high-level and detailed technical designs, delivery plans and supporting documentation
- Supporting the integration of server, virtualisation, networking and security technologies
- Ensuring solutions comply with relevant technical, security and engineering standards
- Supporting customer engagements, bids and business-winning activities
Essential experience of the Senior Platform Engineer:
- Active eDV clearance
- Strong background in enterprise server and infrastructure technologies
- Experience designing and delivering complex networked IT solutions
- Knowledge of virtualisation technologies such as VMware and associated infrastructure platforms
- Experience producing technical architecture and design documentation
- Ability to engage effectively with customers, stakeholders and multidisciplinary engineering teams
Essential qualifications for the Senior Platform Engineer:
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
- Demonstrable experience delivering complex IT infrastructure solutions within secure environments

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Malvern site with a minimum average site attendance of five days per week. The Malvern facility is noted for its work in electronic warfare, surveillance and complex system integration, contributing significantly to the UK’s defence capabilities. Developing technologies for military and civilian applications, including sensors, communications and cyber security.
