🧭 What You’ll Do

- Oversee and coordinate the shipping process from order confirmation to final delivery. Ensure all shipments are processed accurately and on schedule.
- Arrange transportation with carriers, freight forwarders, and couriers while negotiating competitive shipping rates and maintaining service reliability.
- Track and monitor shipments in transit, proactively resolving issues or delays that may impact delivery commitments and provide regular updates to stakeholders on shipment status, delivery timelines, and potential delays.
- Work with vendors to arrange for pickup and delivery of incoming materials, components, and production supplies.
- Coordinate domestic and international freight movements including LTL, FTL, courier, and specialized freight as required.
- Coordinate inbound logistics to ensure materials are received in alignment with production schedules and operational requirements.
- Collaborate with production, purchasing, and warehouse teams to prioritize shipments and support manufacturing timelines and customer deliveries.
- Work with Controlled Goods Supervisor to ensure all export laws and regulations are being followed.
- Maintain detailed records of shipments, freight costs, and logistics activity.
- Screening of drivers and companies to ensure Controlled Goods Compliance.
- Pack, palletize, secure, and load outgoing shipments using appropriate materials and material-handling equipment (e.g., forklifts and pallet jacks).
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments to ensure accuracy and compliance with quality and safety standards. Identify, document, and report any damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
- Prepare and maintain accurate shipping documentation, including bills of lading, shipping labels, packing slips, and customs paperwork as required.
- Coordinate customs clearance for international shipments and work with freight forwarders and customs brokers as required.
- Communicate with customers to provide updates on order status, address shipping inquiries, and resolve any delivery-related issues.
- Provide regular updates to the business on shipping and logistics status, ensuring timely communication of any delays that could impact production or customer commitments.
- Enter shipping data into the shipment tracker and maintain accurate, up-to-date logistics records within internal tracking systems.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping, transportation, safety, environmental, and customs regulations.
- Identify and implement improvements to shipping and logistics processes to enhance efficiency, reduce freight costs, and improve supply chain performance.

🎓 What You Bring

- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or supply chain coordination within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience coordinating domestic and international freight shipments.
- Familiarity with customs documentation, freight forwarders, and transportation regulations.
- Experience working with ERP or MRP systems and shipment tracking tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with the transportation of dangerous goods.
- IATA Certifications for air and sea dangerous goods shipments.
- Proven experience in logistics coordination or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of shipping processes and carrier management.

🔐 Security & Safety Requirements

- Must be a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada.
- Able to obtain a Canadian Class 2 Security clearance.
- Must have a clean background history and obtain criminal record check
