QinetiQ’s IT organisation is evolving to provide the advanced technology and IT services that underpin QinetiQ’s future global strategy and ambitions. As such, we are excited to announce we are now accepting applications for an energetic Systems Support Officer, with a can-do attitude, to join QinetiQ’s IT family with flexibility to be based in either Nowra, Canberra, Adelaide, or Melbourne

 

Reporting to the Infrastructure & Platforms Manager the Systems Support Officer will actively coordinate the front-line support queues ensuring support incidents and requests are appropriately assigned and actioned.

 

In addition, the successful candidate will participate, work, and contribute to larger IT projects and programmes.

 

The Systems Support Officer will be accountable for:

 

  • Coordinating the support queues, ensuring all incidents/requests are assigned in a timely and professional manner
  • Troubleshooting and resolving assigned incidents or service requests whilst ensuring prompt professional service
  • Undertaking day-to-day administrative duties, such as:
    • Account management.
    • File & Print Services Management.
    • Client setup, configuration, and support.
    • Installation, configuration and support of corporate and enterprise-wide support tools, systems, applications, and technologies.
    • Maintenance of IT system registers for the management of ICT assets.
    • Stock management
  • Maintaining, updating, and creating operational support, knowledgebase, and end user documentation
  • Working, communicating and cross-skilling with other members of the Infrastructure & Platforms team and where appropriate with the greater QinetiQ IT group

 

 

To be successful in the role of Systems Support Officer you will need to bring with you:

 

  • Experience within an IT Service Desk environment or similar
  • Strong focus, and commitment to customer service.
  • Knowledge/understanding of ITIL principles
  • Working knowledge of technologies, such as:
    • Microsoft Active Directory/Entra.
    • M365/Azure platforms and systems.
    • Microsoft Windows 11.
    • Microsoft Office 365 Suite; and MS Teams
    • Basic network fundamentals such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS
  • Experience in supporting laptop, workstation, printing, telephony, and video conferencing technologies
  • Experience with security and application patching
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • One or more technology certifications, such as those associated with Microsoft or ITIL, ITILv4 Foundations, Microsoft Certified IT Professional, Microsoft 365 Fundamentals, CompTIA+, etc.

 

 

Whilst not essential, a tertiary qualification in Computer Science or Information Technology would be advantageous.

 

 

Candidates will need to be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance.
