The Role
As a LTT (Long Test Track) Capability Lead, you’ll provide the overall technical, people (delivery) and facility management of the LTT Capability, ultimately responsible for the consistent technical delivery of customer trials.
Day-to-day, you’ll ensure the successful delivery of customer trials alongside the Project Manager with critical responsibilities through Business Development Activities, Technical / Trial Design, Safe System of Work reviews, delivery of the trial and reporting. This role is responsible for the successful and safe technical delivery of the work requiring management of a multidisciplinary team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Undertake the role of Capability Lead for the people (Delivery Management), equipment, facility and processes that jointly provide the LTT service
- Manage the technical contribution to Business Winning activities through the assessment and confirmation of capability suitability for customer requirements
- Required to effectively brief up 2-star MOD and QinetiQ Managing Director level on all matters related to the LTT capability
- Managing the LTT delivery team and the LTT schedule to ensure projects and trials are planned, managed and approved
- Be responsible for developing, revising and maintaining a Propulsion System procurement strategy
Essential experience of the LTT Capability Lead:
- Experience in the design and conduct of Trials
- Understanding of OME Trials in general, ideally with direct knowledge of Test Track trials
- Management of multi-disciplinary teams with complex stakeholder arrangements
- Ability to confidently present technical information to senior audiences
- Customer relationship management including business development activities and Supplier management
- Sound understanding of mechanical design and modelling techniques
Essential qualifications for the LTT Capability Lead:
- Degree level educated in engineering and/or relevant scientific subject

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Pendine site with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week.
