The Role
As a Mechanical Foreman within the Engineering section based at Pendine, you will be supporting the delivery of important trials and tests taking place on the Range site and assisting in the production and maintenance of Mechanical targets, equipment and components.

 

Day-to-day, you’ll provide supervision of fabrication and engineering activities within the workshop. The role will ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards, while leading and supporting workshop staff with a hands-on attitude. The Foreman will also be responsible for carrying out inspections and completing detailed inspection reports in line with company and customer requirements.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring that the manufacture and maintenance of the Range equipment is carried out in line with the works schedule
  • Interpreting and working from engineering drawings
  • Operation of the mechanical workshops equipment
  • Support range activities and trials

 

Essential experience of the Mechanical Foreman:

  • Proven experience in an engineering fabrication environment
  • Previous supervisory or foreman experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, welding, and workshop practices
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience in completing inspection reports and quality documentation
  • Good communication skills and ability to manage a team effectively

 

Essential qualifications for the Mechanical Foreman:

  • Recognised Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification
  • Welding qualifications (MIG/TIG/Stick) are desirable
  • Forklift / overhead crane certifications are desirable
  • IOSH or similar safety qualification
  • Full Driving Licence

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Pendine site. Set working times are: 

  • Monday to Thursday 07:30 to 16:15
  • Friday 07:30 to 11:30
