Assistant Commercial Manager

As a member of the UK Shared Services team, provide support and knowledge to Commercial Services. Delivering planned or requested activities which will depend on the requirements of the individual task in order to effectively deliver high quality services to our customers.


Including but not limited to:

  • To provide commercial support within multi-disciplined Integrated Capture Teams and Integrated Delivery Teams as required in accordance with the established commercial strategy.
  • To contribute to the effective and efficient contractual management of contracts within the portfolio including all aspects of legal (T’s and C’s), pricing, and IP as appropriate
  • To demonstrate general commercial acumen on tenders and contracts which are typically standard, of low to medium complexity, or providing junior support other commercial staff on major projects, or new business campaigns
  • To have an accomplished understanding of deal structures/ terms and conditions/ liabilities and indemnities and ability to advise teams of appropriate strategies and approaches for each bid.
  • To identify show stoppers and potential business challenges in customer terms and conditions, behaviours, and performance.
  • To manage a portfolio of multiple bids and or contracts at the same time.
  • To draft (creation or amendments) of business-to-business agreements – Contracts/ICTA and Non-disclosure Agreements, and able to advise when each may be applicable.
  • To be able to develop further interaction with stakeholders/ other functions in order to achieve business objectives.
  • To support strategic deals that endure past the first engagement
  • To use data to analyse trends and influence decision making on contract strategy
  • To support negotiation strategy and planning, capable of influencing up to programme level
  • To deliver revenue generating, simple to medium complexity negotiations for mutual benefit
  • To support pricing strategy (pay, performance and incentivisation) in contracts
  • To provide mentoring and informal guidance to less experienced staff.



To have attained a University Degree, MCIPS, IACCM Practitioner level OR evidence of 1-2 years practical experience in a similar role.
