About the role

We are looking for an Assurance Manager to support the Governance and Assurance Manager in improving confidence in business winning and delivery across our UK Defence portfolio of work.

 

What will I be doing?

As an Assurance Manager, you will be responsible for carrying out assurance reviews across projects, programmes and opportunities with the UK Defence business. As part of the Governance & Assurance team you will be reporting to the business on compliance against QinetiQ’s corporate Policy, Procedures and Processes, including the application of the QinetiQ Lifecycle Framework (QLF).

 

  • Provision of Governance & Assurance advice to projects, programmes and opportunities.
  • Carry out P3M Assurance Reviews of project and programmes across the UKD business.  Report all outcomes of reviews on the Compliance Assurance Tool (CAT).
  • Implement an Assurance plan to detail reviews to be carried out during the year and report the outcome of the reviews to various stakeholders.
  • Complete trend analysis of reviews to understand the areas where more support is needed from a Governance and Assurance perspective.
  • Working with the business to ensure compliance with the QLF – including reporting on compliance and advising on tailoring/scaling as appropriate.
  • Training, coaching and mentoring staff in Governance & Assurance best practice, including assessment of training needs to design and implement tailored training.
  • To develop with the business appropriate systems, tools and processes to allow cost effective and efficient work practices.

  • Experience of developing and functionally managing others.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, able to engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to quickly understand the broad and diverse business domains that the UKI business delivers to and supports and the implications to the development and sustainment of capability across those domains.

 

Experience required

  • Demonstrable experience working on a diverse range of projects and programme.
  • Proven leadership and capability development in project organisations to meet specific objectives.
  • Director level stakeholder engagement and leadership (both within and external to QinetiQ) to ensure successful delivery of complex projects and programmes.
  • Degree qualified or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • MAPM or commitment to become so.
