In a rapidly growing UAS (Uncrewed Air Systems) focus area, we are building a technical team within the Aviation Engineering Centre to deliver design, manufacture, modification of and integration of systems, leading innovation cycles to solve complex problems and deliver solutions.
As a Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for delivery of quality designs within the Aviation Engineering Centre (AEC) team. Day to day you will have the following responsibilities:
- The System Design of un-crewed Air Systems.
- Design and Develop Electrical and Electronic Systems.
- The development of Flight Control systems and understanding control laws (including tuning and modelling).
- Equipment Maintenance and Calibration.
- Payload and Mission System Integration
- Practical weapons systems integration and delivery system design.
The role is full time, 37-hours per week and based at Boscombe Down. Periodic travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites, working with a wider UAS team to deliver projects will also be required.
Essential experience of the Controls Engineer
- Experience of working with Uncrewed / Unmanned Air Systems.
Qualifications for the Controls Engineer
- A Degree in Aeronautical Engineering would be beneficial, however we don’t have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience then we would like to hear from you.
