About the role
QinetiQ's Aviation Engineering Centre (AEC) located on our Boscombe Down site is an industry leader in aircraft modification through our accredited Design and Production Organisations and internal network of specialist.
An increasing portfolio of orders across our military and civil businesses are driving growth in our capability and the recruitment in specialist areas.
We are looking for a professional, enthusiastic and motivated Instrumentational Engineer to help us develop and maintain our Flight Test Instrumentation capability in readiness for growth in our core and new business.
The Instrumentation Engineer will support the Solution and Capability Lead Engineer and Senior Engineering colleagues within the FTI field of Engineering to ensure that the Aviation Engineering Centre is able to specify, design, produce and integrate high quality FTI solutions for crewed, uncrewed and ship platforms.
The Instrumentation Engineer will be a recognised practitioner within their Area of Responsibility (AoR) and will support best practice and development in FTI techniques and methods employing proven and emerging novel technology as appropriate to customer requirement.
What do I need?
- The Instrumentation Engineer should have an Electrical / Electronics engineering background.
- You should have demonstrable knowledge and experience of the application of FTI systems to aircraft primary systems and components.
What will I be doing?
- The Instrumentation Engineer will contribute to the development of robust Solution Technical Delivery Plans and to manage change against these plans.
- You will support uplift and sustainment through Continuing Improvement, the quality of execution and output from the FTI field of delivery.
- The Instrumentation Engineer will support a culture of due diligence throughout execution and output of Engineering activities within their AoR to maintain compliance with quality and regulatory obligations and the QinetiQ Operating Framework.
- You will support the maintenance of Engineering relationships with internal and third party Aviation Design, Production and Integration partners, focusing on delivery excellence within their AoR
- The Instrumentation Engineer will support the establishment of an Engineering Community within the field of FTI that aligns with Industry, our competitors and the QinetiQ and AEC goals for future growth. The Community will provide the focus for Compliance and Verification of Engineering output within their AoR.
