About the role:

 

We are recruiting for a Project Manager to work within our HR teams across UK Defence and UK Intelligence on a variety of People related projects. You can be based close to any of our offices, with the opportunity of hybrid working. There will be some travel to Boscombe Down and Farnborough as required dependent on the project.

 

As the Project Manager- HR Projects you will be responsible for the project management and delivery of a variety of people related projects in HR these can include policies and procedures changes, the design and delivery of functional upskilling or contract reviews. This is a great opportunity to combine Project Management experience in a HR environment with support to develop further.

 

What will I be doing?

 

As the Project Manager- HR Projects you will be responsible for project management and delivery of People work streams to support the delivery of the UK People Lifecycle and will be for creating, managing and delivering various projects to strengthen People/HR practice across the UK.

 

You will work closely with People Team Leads, People Partners and People Directors to ensure the smooth delivery of key People projects and processes, bringing progress to life via quantitative and qualitative measures, legal requirements and QinetiQ’s related policies with sound project management expertise utilising their excellent stakeholder management and knowledge of generalist employee relations matters to deliver projects on time and to specification.

 

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for creating, managing and executing various People projects to standardise and strengthen people practice across the UK organisation, as well as setting new processes for the management of consultants involved in commercial contracting;
  • Plan, co-ordinate and deliver People projects across the organisation including tracking, monitoring and reporting on delivery status, identifying risks and any issues to the project lead;
  • Assist in large scale projects to include analysis of new business requirements, assessment of different methods of approach and implementation of solutions
  • Contribute on the tracking of People related activities, analysing data trends and gaps and produce ad-hoc reports to support the UK People Lifecycle;
  • Develop and manage the project plan to keep the team informed regarding potentially challenges with critical path deliverables;
  • Support the development and revision of project documents, status updates, communications and implementation

 

What do I need?

 

  • Work experience in a project management capacity
  • Ability to influence with a wide range of stakeholders;
  • Resilient and shows conviction in decision making, maintaining high performance even when under pressure;
  • Strong analytical thinking and methodical problem solving skills within great attention to detail;
  • Strong presentation, written and documentation skills;
  • Ability to operate autonomously within a diverse client base and able to work well on own initiative and as part of a wider team;
  • Comfortable working in new and ambiguous environments.

 

Experience & Qualifications

 

  • Formal qualification (or working towards) in project management or demonstrable experience of leading projects (essential);
  • CIPD qualified or equivalent relevant experience or a willingness to work towards (desirable);
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a People/HR function;
  • Significant experience of leading projects in a HR/People setting;
  • Experience of compiling data and analysing spreadsheet data, producing summary information;
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) (essential);
  • Demonstrable experience of working with collaborative working tools (Kahoots, SharePoint) experience (essential);
  • Experience of HR Database (Success Factors, SAP) experience (desirable).
