A recent restructure has seen the development of three new Finance Business Partner opportunities.  One supporting our Functions, statutory accounting and tax and two other roles to support each of QinetiQ’s business units. One of those business units is oriented to the provision of specialist consultancy related services and the other, more so oriented to manufacturing, aerospace and R&D.

The roles:

 

Reporting to the Melbourne based Head of Finance, Finance Business Partners who support business units partner with key business stakeholders to provide strategic financial insight, analysis, and support to drive informed decision-making and deliver on financial and operational objectives.  These roles are responsible for leading financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis activities across designated business units, ensuring alignment with overall corporate strategy. Importantly, Finance Business Partners ensure that financial risks and opportunities are identified and addressed, support compliance with financial governance requirements, and contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes and business performance.

 

These roles are support by and provide leadership to one or two Assistant Accountants.

In terms of qualifications, skills and experience, our ideal candidates present with:

  • A strong academic foundation in finance or accounting and ideally, a professional qualification such as CA or CPA.
  • Proven experience in financial business partnering with success in partnering with operational or non-financial teams to influence decision-making and drive performance.
  • Experience managing sensitive financial and commercial information.
  • Commercial acumen with an ability to understand business drivers, interpret financial results, and assess financial implications of strategic and operational decisions.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and accounting software.
  • Knowledge of financial governance and compliance and an understanding of relevant accounting standards, internal controls, and financial policies.
  • A strong customer orientation and relationship building skills coupled with well-honed problem solving abilities

 

Due to the nature of these roles, applicants must hold Australian citizenship and be eligible for Australian Defence security clearance.
