Service Delivery Manager

The Service Delivery Manager is a customer facing role which is responsible for the overall service management and delivery team, with accountability and responsibility for the day to day operational deliveryassurance of managed services across a large complex programme. The role will require you to work closely with the key customer stakeholders, service teams and 3rd party suppliers to ensure that services are maintained and that the customer receives exemplary service delivery.

The Service Delivery Manager will be responsible for the day to day running of the agreed service operations strategy, ensuring that the key performance indicators and opportunities for improvements are identified appropriately.
The purpose of this role is to manage and provide leadership to service team and 3rd Party suppliers in day to day operational service delivery with full responsibility for the assurance of service output for the customer

Key Accountabilities:
1. Take responsibility for the implementation of the service assurance strategy, ensuring key team members are involved in the delivery of the strategy and performance is regularly reviewed and on target.
2. Drive standardisation of service and processes across service support areas, ensuring a consistent high standard service is available to both internal and external customers (both internal and external).
3. Ensure that the delivery of all services within are compliant with the expectations and contractual obligations of the business and its customer
4. Drive overall customer excellence, in order to improve customer satisfaction through the day to day operational of service delivery
5. Has the ability to solve complex problems to ensure risks minimised and the continuation of services delivered
6. Will manage complex internal or external issues and recommend solutions in order for best practice to be adopted across the discipline.
7. Ability to influence key stakeholders and decision makers through the promotion of Service Operations strategies
8. Engage with all other areas of the customer to ensure successful adoption and implementation of new services
9. Accountable for ensuring that accurate performance information is readily available and reviewed to support the effective management of the Service capability
10. Be able to guide others in their acquisition and development of knowledge, including coaching and mentoring junior members of staff. Apply working knowledge to the daily operation and strategy and be able to solve complex issues independently.

Key Capabilities / Knowledge:
• Conversant with Managed Services business value and opportunities.
• Strong operational understanding of Service concepts, and techniques.
• Experience of implementing a service strategy and vision for support services function.
• Strong interpersonal skills and is able to effectively collaborate with others and can demonstrate examples of promoting teamwork across national and multinational teams.
• Experience of carrying out Line Management duties.
• Commercially astute and holds strong business acumen. Has a track record of contract management
• Has strong attention to detail and is able to analyse data and solve complex problems to ensure risks are minimised and the continuation of services delivered.
• History of successfully engaging with customers and being able to meet changing needs and demands, especially in the defence sector
• Excellent communication skills - the ability to write and present complex subject matters in a clear and concise manner.
• Proven experience of influencing key stakeholders and decision makers through the promotion of Service Operations strategies.
• Can advocate for best practice and is able to provide and deliver solutions for continuous improvement.
• Track record of setting and taking ownership of budgets - ensuring the team works in line with profit and loss.
• Strong operational understanding of service supply chains, willingness to develop and adapt to meet changing client and market expectations
• Strong competency of ITIL v4 Service Delivery, Operations and Continuous Service Improvement constituents, detailed knowledge of Service Delivery concepts and techniques
• Ability to engage with customers across multiple levels
• Ability to negotiate and influence key stakeholders during contract discussions and renewals
• Excellent communication skills to lead meetings and with the ability to write complex service matters in a clear and concise manner

Experience & Qualifications:
• Significant experience (minimum of 5 years) in Service Design and Development role within a large complex organisation.
• Experience of managing a team in a matrix organisation ensuring results are obtained and appropriate support given to all team members.
• Significant experience of driving customer excellence across a complex service portfolio
• Degree educated in a relevant subject
• Qualified in ITIL V4 Service Management
• Experience of working across diverse services, products and business
• Willingness and ability to travel
• Security clearance
• People Leadership / Management experience
